Our Story

I'm Bruce Gangelhoff, and BA Custom Products is me: one guy in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, who designs, builds and ships everything you see here.

I've been in the Army National Guard for more than 18 years, and I'm still active today. When I'm not in uniform, I'm in the shop or at the sim.

It started with my own golf simulator. I wanted to aim, switch clubs and take a mulligan without walking back to the computer every shot, and nothing out there did it the way I wanted. So I built a wireless box that runs on the hotkeys already in the sim software. No drivers, nothing to install. I started selling them in 2022, and that box is still the heart of this shop.

One project led to the next. The 3D printers that make the boxes started making custom parts, ferrules and wallets. A laser came in for engraving, and club building and repair joined the list.

Then came TURF, the golf simulator facility I run with my business partner. A facility means a hundred small jobs every day, so I automated them: online booking, bay PCs that start straight at a game menu, software that clicks golfers into the range, and tools that get more out of the control box. That software runs TURF every day, and now I build it for other facilities too: BA Core, BayLauncher, ProTee AutoStart and BA Remapper.

A few things haven't changed. Everything is built by hand. A lot of my software is free, because I value open source. You can support me with a physical purchase of a product like a control box. When you buy from me you own it, with no subscriptions. When you need help, you're texting the guy who built it. And as a soldier myself, I take 25% off control boxes for military, law enforcement and first responders.
