wireless USB encoder
Also listed in Build your own.
Overview
- The wireless brain for a DIY golf sim control box or arcade controller.
- Power by USB-C (power brick or battery bank) or any 3.7 V battery, such as an 18650, on the PH2.0 connector next to the USB-C port. USB-C charges a lithium battery connected there.
- Sleeps on battery power; the button on the white plug after the two red plugs is the wake button. It does not sleep on USB-C power.
- Needs JoyToKey (free) to program what each button sends.
Common questions
Does it work out of the box?
No. You program the encoder with JoyToKey for what you want each button to send.
Why does my battery bank turn off?
The encoder draws so little that smart battery banks shut down. Use a plain power brick or a 3.7 V battery on the PH2.0 connector.

Easy to install and set-up. Works great. Battery not included, found one on EBAY at a decent price.

Excellent product. Very easy to program and use for a golf simbox. I made my own design and thanks to this I can change the button functionality later if I wish.

Wireless usb encoder for making your own golf simulator control box or arcade game controller.
Uses usbc for power, either a power brick or a battery bank will work. The unit draws so little power a smart battery bank will not work.
Also can use any 3.7v battery is 18650 battery the plug in next to the usbc is a ph2.0 for whatever battery you decide to use. The usbc will also charge lithium battery you use if you use the ph2.0 connection and battery.
What ever button you plug into the white plug after the 2 red plugs will be the wake button.
The unit will not go to sleep using the usbc plug to power the unit. It only does using a battery and the ph2.0 connection.
This requires joy to key software to work. You need to program the encoder for what you would like. Watch videos on how to use joy to key as it’s a free software
