Set up GSPro for a faster golf simulator bay

, by Bruce Gangelhoff

GSPro plays great; getting around it is what slows a bay down. These are the steps that make a GSPro bay quick to start and easy to play, whatever launch monitor you run it with.

Testing a control box board on a laptop that shows each key press
Every button sends a GSPro hotkey.

Know the hotkeys

GSPro runs on keyboard shortcuts for aim, club, tee position, mulligan, the camera views and more. The simulator hotkey list has every one in one place, the same keys a BA control box sends with one press.

Put the hotkeys at the mat

A wireless V2.5 control box has 14 big buttons, each a GSPro hotkey out of the box. Setup takes about five minutes (full setup guide):

  1. Plug the small USB dongle into any USB port on the sim PC.
  2. Put one AA battery in the back.
  3. First time only, for the GSPro version: press Windows key + X, open Device Manager, expand Human Interface Devices, right-click "HID-compliant system controller" and choose Disable device.
  4. Press a button. The box wakes on its own and sends the GSPro hotkey printed on it.

Get rid of the mouse

Free BA Remapper adds a second job to every button. Pick the Basic Secondary profile, then hold Shift (the Reset Aim button) and press a button for move forward, move back, next option, drop ball or rehit, OB rehit or clear view. Smart Clicks handle GSPro's relief menu for you.

Boot straight to the range

Any launch monitor

The control box talks to GSPro, not to the launch monitor, so it works with every launch monitor GSPro supports: Uneekor, ProTee VX, Square Golf, Foresight, FlightScope, Garmin, Bushnell and more. See which control box works with my simulator.
