Overview
- For GSPro bays with a ProTee VX launch monitor. Turn the bay PC on. That is the whole job.
- Runs at boot: clicks through the ProTee update prompt, presses Play on the GSPro Configuration window, opens the practice range (or stops at the GSPro main menu, your choice), parks the mouse in a corner and resets the aim.
- Reads the screen with the OCR built into Windows, so any resolution, display scale or number of monitors works. Nothing to calibrate.
- Recovers a stuck launch monitor: if the ProTee VX will not connect, it power-cycles the monitor through a Shelly smart plug and tries again. It can ping your phone through a webhook if anything stalls.
- ESC aborts instantly. Ctrl+Shift+D kills it. S during the countdown opens Setup.
- Free and open source (MIT license) on GitHub.
What it does
ProTee AutoStart does the morning routine on a GSPro bay that uses a ProTee VX launch monitor, before the first customer walks in.
- When the ProTee software asks to update, it clicks Download Update and waits.
- It clicks Play on the GSPro Configuration window.
- It selects Practice and opens the practice range. In Setup you can have it stop at the GSPro main menu instead.
- If you set one, it clicks a player profile tab.
- It leaves GSPro focused at the range, parks the mouse out of the way in a corner and resets the aim.
Launch monitor recovery
If the ProTee VX does not connect, AutoStart can switch it off and on through a Shelly smart plug and retry. The plug's IP address, how long to cut power, how long to wait for a reconnect and the overall timeout are all settings. If it times out, it can send an alert to a webhook, so your phone gets a ping.
Hotkeys and launch options
- ESC stops it at any time, even if the tool itself has frozen (a small watchdog handles the key).
- Ctrl+Shift+D kills it instantly. Ctrl+Alt+Del always works.
- S during the countdown opens Setup.
- Start it with the
/runflag to skip the countdown and run at once. - While it works it can pause the mouse and keyboard so a player cannot click over it. ESC still gets through.
Works with BayLauncher
A BayLauncher game card can run ProTee AutoStart, which then opens GSPro, so a guest taps one card and the bay is at the range.
Common questions
Does it need calibrating for my screens?
No. It reads the same text a person sees, at any resolution, scale or monitor count.
Where does the bay end up?
At the practice range or the GSPro main menu, your choice in Setup.
What if the ProTee VX will not connect?
With a Shelly smart plug on the monitor's power, AutoStart cuts the power, brings it back and tries again. Without a plug it stops and, if you set a webhook, pings your phone.
What if I need to stop it?
ESC aborts instantly, even if the tool has frozen. Ctrl+Shift+D kills it.
Is it open source?
Yes, MIT license, on GitHub.

What's new
2.2.2 current 2026-10-04
Safety release: a frozen tool can never leave a bay stuck. Upgrading keeps your settings.
Most people want `ProTeeAutoStart-Setup-2.2.2.zip` below: extract and run the setup. `ProTeeAutoStart-2.2.2.zip` is the bare program if you'd rather set it up by hand.
Changed
- ESC always stops it. Even with the mouse and keyboard paused, and even if AutoStart itself has frozen. A small watchdog runs alongside the tool and handles ESC, so the key works no matter what state the tool is in. `Ctrl+Shift+D` still kills it instantly too.
- A frozen tool closes itself. If AutoStart stops responding for 30 seconds, the watchdog closes it and the mouse and keyboard come straight back. (Adjust with `FreezeKillSec` in `settings.ini`.)
- "Lock" is now "Pause the mouse and keyboard while it runs". Same protection against a player clicking over the tool while it works, but it's a guide, not a lock: ESC and Ctrl+Shift+D always get through.
- New Start Menu shortcut: ProTee AutoStart Setup. Handy when your bay starts the tool with `/run` and the countdown never shows.
- The website link in the Setup window is now clickable, and the docs are corrected throughout.

2.2.1 2026-10-04
Adds three things bay operators asked for. Upgrading keeps your settings.
Most people want `ProTeeAutoStart-Setup-2.2.1.zip` below: extract and run the setup. `ProTeeAutoStart-2.2.1.zip` is the bare program if you'd rather set it up by hand.
New
- Start it from a game launcher or kiosk. Untick Start automatically when you log in during install and have your launcher run `ProTeeAutoStart.exe /run`. It starts the sequence straight away, with no countdown.
- Lock the mouse and keyboard while it runs. A new Setup option, off by default. While the sequence runs, nobody standing at the bay can click or type over it, but the tool's own clicks still go through. It needs no administrator rights and unlocks automatically the moment the tool finishes, times out, or closes.
- Ctrl+Shift+D kills it instantly. Works any time AutoStart is running, with the lock on or off. Ctrl+Alt+Del always works too. While the lock is on, ESC no longer aborts the run.
Also includes everything from v2.1.0, including the fix for bays that stopped clicking Play after a display-scaling change.

2.1.0 2026-08-31
Reliability release. If you're on any earlier version, update — this fixes a real failure that can hit any bay after a display change.
Most people want `ProTeeAutoStart-Setup-2.1.0.zip` below: extract, run the setup, and it handles the install and the start-with-Windows shortcut for you. Upgrading keeps your settings. `ProTeeAutoStart-2.1.0.zip` is the bare program if you'd rather set it up by hand.
Fixed: bays that stopped clicking Play
On some machines the tool would run, find nothing to click, and time out at the GSPro Configuration screen — often on a PC that had worked fine for months.
The cause was Windows display scaling. The GSPro Configuration dialog isn't built for scaled displays, so above 100% Windows stretches its image to fit, which softens the text. Long labels still read fine; the short Play! button caption didn't, so the tool couldn't find the button it needed.
ProTee AutoStart no longer reads that button. It asks Windows directly for its exact position — the dialog is a standard Windows dialog, so its buttons are things the operating system already knows about. That makes this step immune to display scaling, resolution, monitor count, monitor arrangement, and even another window sitting on top of the dialog. Three read-based fallbacks remain behind it, and the log records which one was used.
Also in this release
- Clearer logs. When a step can't be completed, the log now records what was found, what wasn't, and the coordinates involved, instead of staying silent. If you ever need support, that log answers most questions in one run.
- Update-check noise removed. A note about the launcher's update check no longer reads like an error, and only appears while the launcher is actually up.
- Whole-screen fallbacks for the PRACTICE and PRACTICE RANGE steps, used only if reading the GSPro window alone comes up short.

Full details
Turn the bay PC on. That's the whole job.
ProTee AutoStart runs when your sim PC boots and handles the morning routine on its own: it clicks through update prompts, presses Play, and leaves the bay at the practice range – or the GSPro main menu, your choice – before your first customer walks in.
It reads the screen using the OCR built into Windows – the same text a person sees – so it works at any resolution, any display scale, and any number of monitors. Nothing to measure or calibrate.
If your launch monitor fails to connect, AutoStart can power-cycle it through a Shelly smart plug and retry. If anything stalls, it can ping your phone through a webhook. ESC aborts instantly, and one key opens Setup.
What's in the download:
– Windows installer with an optional start-with-Windows setting
– Quick-start README
– Start Menu shortcuts and a clean uninstaller (your settings are kept)
Requirements: Windows 10 or 11 and GSPro. The Shelly smart plug is optional and only needed for connection recovery.

Note: Windows may show a SmartScreen prompt on first run since the installer isn't code-signed yet. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
