BA Remapper — Control Box Software for GSPro

BA Remapper 5.0.9 makes Clear View work on the Basic Secondary profile with FN and either club button. Install it right over 5.0.8 — profiles, settings and locked Smart Click spots are kept.

Clear View on both club buttons

• Basic Secondary now sends Clear View (B) for FN + Club Down and for FN + Club Up.
• On a box whose club buttons send I and K the other way round (the reason to tick Swap Club Up/Down), FN + Club Down was read as Club Up. Club Up had nothing assigned, so Clear View did nothing. It now works whichever way the box is wired and whether Swap is ticked or not.

Clearer key trace

• `ocr_trace.txt` now logs the key an FN combo sent (for example "secondary fired: clubdown -> sent b"), logs an FN combo with nothing assigned, and shows the active profile each time FN goes down. One press shows exactly what happened.

5.0.8 2026-10-05

BA Remapper 5.0.8 makes Auto-Pick Scramble decide during the countdown and pick right at zero, and fixes reading distances on the putting green and single-digit distances. Install it right over 5.0.7 — profiles, settings and locked Smart Click spots are kept.

Auto-Pick Scramble: decided before zero

• The cards are now read on every look (every 2 seconds) from the moment they appear, all through the countdown, instead of waiting until zero to start reading.
• Each read votes for the card it would pick. At zero the card most reads agree on gets its key, so one bad frame can't swing the pick.
• The key goes out right at zero, after a quick look confirms the cards are still up. If the players pick in the last second, nothing is sent.
• If nothing could be decided by zero, it keeps reading for about 4–6 more seconds, then stands down and lets the players choose.
• `scramble_log.txt` gets one entry per pick, with every read listed (for example "PICKED 2 at zero (7 reads: card 2 x6, card 1 x1)").

Auto-Pick Scramble: close-up reads

• Windows' text reader sometimes skips a card's distance completely. On the putting green it missed a 28' 0" in every read while the card beside it read fine, and it skips a lone digit like "8" every time.
• When a card's distance is missing, BA Remapper now reads just that card's distance area again: first enlarged, then with only the white text kept (the green grid and card edges removed), and finally with a marker word written beside a lone digit so the reader can't skip it.
• A zero read as the letter O on the green (28' O") is understood as 28' 0".
• If even the close-up finds nothing, that card's area is saved as `scramble_card<N>.bmp` for diagnosis.

New: Key Test

• Tray menu → Key Test (last keys received) shows the last keys the PC received, so you can see exactly what each box button sends. A button that never shows up there isn't reaching the PC at all.

BA Remapper 5.0.7 fixes everything found in the 5.0.6 sim session. Install it right over 5.0.6 — your profiles, settings and locked Smart Click spots are kept.

Smart Clicks

• Drop Ball / Rehit is now fast every time. That button's word changes with the option shown (Drop Ball, Rehit, or "Go to DZ" in a water drop zone), so it is confirmed by Move Forward and Move Back sitting in their locked places, then clicked whatever it says. In 5.0.6 a changed word failed the check and fell back to a slow full-screen read.
• The OB dialog's Rehit button moves slightly side to side. The app now allows for that instead of treating the dialog as still moving, so the first press works.
• If the menu slides in again (for example after Move Back moves the ball), the press waits it out instead of giving up after three reads. A press made with no menu on screen still stops quickly.
• Every FN and button press on a Smart Click profile is now recorded in `ocr_trace.txt`, so any press that doesn't reach a Smart Click shows exactly why.

Auto-Pick Scramble on the green

• Cards are remembered across screen reads. On the putting green the animated grid spoils a different card in each frame; together the frames now read every card.
• Grid lines crossing a card no longer spoil its distance, and a green distance is read even when its ' and " marks come through as letters.
• Six reads before standing down (was four). The stand-down record (`ocr_last_scramble_miss.txt`) shows every line's position.

5.0.6 2026-10-05

BA Remapper 5.0.6 makes Smart Clicks fast again and simplifies the scramble pick. Install it right over 5.0.5 — your profiles and settings are kept.

Smart Clicks: locked spots

• The first Smart Click on a PC reads the GSPro menu twice, checks the two reads agree, and locks in where every button sits. Every press after that reads only that button's small area and clicks. It's fast again, with no click positions for anyone to set up.
• Locked spots are tied to the GSPro window size. Change the resolution and they are re-learned automatically on the next press. Tray menu → Reset Smart Click spots forces a fresh learn.
• A menu that is still sliding or zooming in is never clicked. The app waits until the button is in its locked place at full size.
• Extra taps of Drop Ball or Rehit made while a press is working are dropped. They used to run after the drop and show "not found".
• The scramble watcher pauses while FN is held, so a press never waits behind it.

Auto-Pick Scramble

• The rule is now: fewest strokes, then a ball on the green always wins, then the shortest distance.
• The lie no longer stops a pick. 5.0.5 stood down on a card it read perfectly as CONCRETE. If a group wants a longer ball from a better lie than one in the woods, they pick it themselves before the countdown ends.
• Green distances read correctly when Windows' text reader turns the ' mark into a 1 (14' 7" read as "141 7"").

5.0.5 2026-10-04

BA Remapper 5.0.5 fixes the auto-pick and Smart Click misses found in live testing. Install it right over 5.0.4 — your profiles and settings are kept.

Auto-Pick Scramble

• Fixed: on some screens the countdown ran out and nothing was picked. Depending on screen size, Windows' text reader returns a card's lie row as one piece ("ROUGH 4TH") or as two ("ROUGH" and "4TH"). 5.0.4 only looked at the "4TH" piece, saw no lie and stood down. 5.0.5 reads the whole row either way.
• A single misread letter in the lie ("R0UGH", "GREFN") or in the shot ("ZND") is now recovered instead of ending the pick.
• The distance must sit centered on the card, so the corner player number can never stand in for a misread distance.

Smart Clicks

• A click now happens only when two back-to-back screen reads agree on where the button is. A menu caught while GSPro is still animating it in can no longer send a click between Drop Ball and Move Back.
• A failed screen read is skipped and the next one used, instead of cancelling the press.
• Two screen reads never run on top of each other (OCR Test, start-up and background checks all wait their turn).

Diagnostics

• Fixed: OCR Test failed with "see error_log.txt" on any PC that had never saved a scan before, and `ocr_trace.txt`, `ocr_last_miss.txt` and `error_log.txt` were never created on a fresh install.
• New `scramble_log.txt` keeps the last ~100 pick attempts with exactly what was read on every card.
• With scramble cards on screen, OCR Test shows which card auto-pick would choose.
• `launch_log.txt` records the running version.

Auto-Pick Scramble

• Lie, green and shot number are now read from each card's lie row only. A player name like "Deep Rough Dan", "Woods" or "Sandy" can no longer be mistaken for a lie — so a ball on the green always wins, as intended.
• A misread distance can no longer sneak in as a tiny number and steal the pick.
• On the putting green, the animated grid can spoil a single screen read. The picker now re-reads the next frames instead of giving up after the countdown.

Smart Clicks

• Full support for mulligans turned off: the four-button relief menu and the "You have hit OB!" dialog with Rehit only.
• The screen read starts the moment you press FN, so the arrow press clicks right away. A menu that is still fading in is waited out — one press is all it takes.
• Background scans and button presses never collide, and a press is never silently dropped.
• The GSPro game window is picked by size, so connector apps or a browser tab with "GSPro" in the title can't confuse it.
• On multi-monitor rigs, on-screen messages appear on the game screen, not the operator's monitor.

Under the hood

• Any internal error is logged to `error_log.txt` and recovered from instead of stopping a feature.
• New `ocr_trace.txt` records every Smart Click press step by step for one-email support.

BA Remapper 5.0 is the biggest update yet — the control box now reads the screen. Smart Clicks (OCR). FN secondaries can now find and click GSPro's penalty and relief menu buttons by reading the live screen: Move Forward, Move Back, Next Option, Drop Ball / Rehit, and OB Rehit. No positions to teach, no setup — works at any resolution, any monitor setup, any Windows scaling. Every click is verified against the whole menu before it fires, so it clicks the right button or tells you, never guesses. Uses the OCR engine built into Windows 10/11 — nothing extra to install, nothing leaves your PC. Basic Secondary preset, built in. Pick "Basic Secondary" from the profile dropdown and the yellow print on your box just works with zero programming — Clear View, OB Rehit, Move Forward/Back, Next Option, and Drop Ball / Rehit, exactly as labeled. The preset is locked so it always matches the print; press Del on it to restore factory defaults anytime. Auto-Pick Scramble. Turn it on and BA Remapper watches for the scramble shot-select cards, shows an optional on-screen countdown (5–20 seconds, your choice), and picks the best ball automatically by pressing its shot key.
